Meet Our Board Member: Pastor Rob Marrow
Hurricane Irma devastated Immokalee in 2017. The following year, Immokalee Fair Housing Association Board Secretary Pastor Rob Marrow attended the retreat that got the Immokalee Fair Housing Association ball rolling, and he has been involved ever since.
“People are more likely to thrive when they live in a safe and healthy environment,” said Rob. “It is our responsibility, our mission as Christians to help make this a reality for everyone in our community!”
Rob was firmly behind the project from the beginning. However, he was personally aware of the difficulties in getting approvals for construction in Collier County.
“Frankly, in my heart of hearts, I was somewhat skeptical as to the likelihood of success. So, it has been a source of joy for me to see barriers coming down at every step. The Immokalee Fair Housing Association apartment community will add value to and transform the lives of many people.”
As Pastor of Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church, Rob is passionate about building community, both within the church and with its neighbors. He also believes in partnering with organizations serving the community, as opposed to going it alone.
That’s why the church works with Immokalee Fair Housing Association and other Immokalee nonprofits such as food pantries. He encourages his parishioners to get involved, and the Immokalee Fair Housing Association team is glad to be on his list of worthy beneficiaries!
