Helping People Who Can’t Afford a Home
If you want to help people who can’t afford a home, you’ve come to the right place. The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance mission is to eliminate substandard and overcrowded rental housing for farmworker families and low-income residents of Immokalee, Florida.
Our nonprofit organization is actively building a future based on its vision to provide secure, affordable hurricane-resistant rental housing that strengthens the community by fostering health, education, dignity and financial stability.
To this end, we’ve put the following strategic goals into place:
Quality of Life
Provide and/or promote opportunities for:
Children to participate in early learning and afterschool activities
Adults to participate in educational and enrichment activities
Families to leverage rental savings for better financial outcomes
Community-wide health and wellness enhancements Dignity and Community Promote a collaborative governance model that includes residents, management and the board of directors
Availability and Replacement
Provide new rental housing
Work with nonprofit and government partners to eliminate substandard housing
Affordability and Sustainability
Maintain rental rates that:
Are at or below 30% of household income
Maintain financial sustainability of operations
Security
Ensure that all new units are Category 5 hurricane-rated
