Donor Spotlight: Brian Anderson & Daphne Hammond

Brian Anderson and Daphne Hammond have been long-term supporters of the people of Immokalee.

Originally from Washington, D.C., where Brian was a trademark and copyright attorney with significant clients, the couple became snowbirds and retired to Sanibel Island. After several years, they relocated to Orlando, where Brian grew up.

Since 2005, Brian and Daphne have supported the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, a worker-based human rights organization focused on social responsibility, human trafficking, and gender-based violence at work. The organization is internationally recognized for the Fair Food Program and other initiatives promoting safe working conditions and better pay for farmworkers.

Knowing about their passion for helping those in Immokalee, a friend shared with Brian and Daphne the excellent work done by the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance. When they learned that the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance was similar to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers in keeping administrative costs low, Brian and Daphne were ready to jump on board and support the plan to build safe, affordable housing in Immokalee. “Our contributions go right to the mission,” says Brian.

We hope that Brian and Daphne will visit our area soon to see our progress because of their generosity. We look forward to showing you both around, and thank you for your help!
