Meet Our Board Member: Dr. Martine Woolley

It is a good time to feature Board Member Dr. Martine Woolley, as it has been exactly one year since she joined our organization. Dr. Woolley is the vice president of pharmacy for the Healthcare Network serving Immokalee and Naples, and she knows of the deplorable living conditions of many of her patients.

“Children who are exposed to environmental risks such as mold and water contamination are often sick and are not able to perform well in school. Our environment influences our health holistically, especially where we live. Providing safe, affordable housing is a great cause, and I am proud to be on the IFHA Board,” she said.

Dr. Martine Woolley is the vice president of pharmacy for Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, a nonprofit with a mission of making quality medical care available to everyone in the community. Since joining the Network in 2015, Dr. Woolley has transformed the organization’s pharmacy program from a single in-house pharmacy to a multi-location clinical program, including in-house pharmacies and multiple contract pharmacies throughout Collier County.

Dr. Woolley holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Simmons College; Doctor of Pharmacy, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy; Master of Science in Clinical Toxicology and a Master of Business Administration, University of Florida. She speaks English, French and Creole.

Martine was born in Haiti, but emigrated to the United States when she was 16, living with a sister in the Boston area. After school, she held positions in Boston and Georgia before being recruited to lead the Healthcare Network Pharmacy program.

“When I came to Immokalee, it felt like home.  And the mission of the Healthcare Network is amazing. There was no way I could refuse this job. We strive for a community where every person has access to appropriate healthcare. People are so dedicated. At Healthcare Network, the staff learns other languages such Creole and Spanish to better communicate and to provide quality care to their patients,” she said.

And joining the IFHA Board was a no-brainer. As a parishioner of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, she learned of our organization from Board Member Reverend Mike Butler.

“We serve the same population. Safe, affordable housing is a necessity, as is obtaining medical care and medications at an affordable price.”

We are proud to have you on our Board, Dr. Woolley!
